Membership in professional networks and organisations, institutional boards, and organs of science policy and administration is the domain of mainly the senior scientists involved in the NICR. It is highly beneficial for their work, for the functioning of the science community, and in general for the reputation of Czech science. It is also an indicator of the expert’s reputation at a supranational level, and it has an indirect but crucial influence on the NICR. In the case of membership on the boards of international associations, it generally contributes to the reputation of our scientific community, and it is a good starting point for the formulation of future project calls, identification of potential collaborators, and increased effectiveness of our own research.
