The National Institute for Cancer Research (NICR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University Hospital Cologne, specifically with the Institute of Virology. This is thanks to the Laboratory of Cancer Cell Architecture of the Institute of Biochemistry and Experimental Oncology at the First Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University, which has been successfully cooperating with this institute.
“Our laboratory is a place where scientists from all over the world have come together to unravel the mysteries of cancer. Thanks to the support of the NICR, we have created a multicultural team with a wealth of experience and knowledge,” says group leader Dr Martin Sztacho, whose team consists of talented scientists – Dr Agnieszka Chytła from Poland, an expert in biochemistry and lipid-protein interactions, Dr Claudia Carrera Bravo from Peru, an expert in cell signalling research, and three PhD students Soodabeh Abbasi Sani from Iran, Elena Herencia Lagunar from Spain and Rabia Gönül from Turkey.
“Each member of the team brings a unique perspective and skill set that enriches our research. Thanks to the successful collaboration with the Institute of Virology at the University Hospital Cologne, confirmed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, our laboratory is gradually becoming an internationally recognized scientific group. This collaboration allows us to share knowledge and experience on a global level, and we plan to expand our international presence further,” adds Mr Sztacho.
