Leukemia, one of the most prestigious peer-reviewed journals in the field of hematology and oncology, recently published The Best of Leukemia 2024. The paper by one of the NICR team came in at an excellent 3rd place!
This is the publication “ERIC recommendations for TP53 mutation analysis in chronic lymphocytic leukemia-2024 update”, which is the result of an international collaboration. The coordinator of the development of new recommendations for TP53 gene analysis in chronic lymphocytic leukemia was the Department of Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology, Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, and the Medical University Hospital Brno, specifically the Centre for Molecular Biology and Genetics and the Centre for Molecular Medicine CEITEC MU. The first authors of the publication are Dr. Jitka Malčíková and Dr. Šárka Pavlová, and the corresponding author is Prof. Šárka Pospíšilová, members of the Medical Genomics research group of the National Cancer Research Institute.
The inclusion among the most important publications of the journal Leukemia (impact factor 12.8) is a recognition not only of the quality of the scientific work, but also of the contribution to clinical practice, where the recommendations of TP53 analyses fundamentally influence the treatment strategies of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Congratulations!
