Molecular biology of cancer: Biomarkers of prognosis of solid malignancies and biomarkers of terapeutic interventions

Tumor is diverse, multifaceted adversary, but same time our fatal associate.

  • Mission: To elucidate processes of tumor progression and identify biomarkers of individual therapeutic response of patients.
  • Vision: To understand tumor progression along with mapping of prognosis and prediction in oncological patients with the aim to make therapy more tailored and effective.

We will identify molecular parameters of genetic modification, such as DNA damage, changes in the regulation of gene expressions, including epigenetic factors (miRNA expression, DNA methylation). All these parameters describing genomic instability will be followed in tumors of gastrointestinal tracts and ovary. We will map progression from primary tumors to synchronous and/or metachronous metastatic disease with the aim to estimate the prognosis of patient. In this context we will focus on unfolding of chemoresistance, which is principal cause of death on malignant diseases.
