- Mission: Development of novel radiotracers enabling personalized medicine through targeted diagnostics and therapy.
- Vision: Identification of suitable radiopharmaceuticals for theranostic applications in oncology.
Several types of bioactive molecules have been tested as molecular probes for radiodiagnostic imaging and radionuclide therapy of tumors. Radiolabelled monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and their fragments are the oldest studied group. However, major limitations of radiolabelled mAbs observed in clinical investigations are immunogenicity, slow pharmacokinetics and reduced delivery of the agents to the target tissue. The other intensively studied group of potential radiodiagnostic and radiotherapeutic agents involves receptor-specific radiolabelled peptides with binding to the same or other targets as mAbs.
