Pediatric tumors are highly complex and very dynamic.

  • Mission: Personalized/precision pediatric oncology.
  • Vision: Incorporation of biomarker based precision/personalized pediatric oncology into standard of care.

Cancer is a disease of the genome. Medical genomics and epigenomics have significantly changed the way we understand these diseases today. It expands our knowledge of tumor biology and allows us to identify new therapeutic targets. At the same time, today it helps directly in clinical practice by enabling individually formulated antitumor treatment reflecting both the uniqueness of the tumor itself and of each of its hosts. Harnessing the power of genomics in oncology care has also significantly improved treatment outcomes for oncology patients. As part of our research, we focus on the search for genomic changes in solid tumors, especially in high-risk refractory childhood tumors, and on evaluating their significance for more accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment.
